Fluctuating Market For EVA Mats and Foam Mats

Markets fluctuate for everything. Prices go up and down for all sorts of goods depending on supply and demand. It is simple mathematics. If you have more of any particular good then you can sell then that will inevitably drive down the price of that good as you try and sell it. If demand is higher than supply than you would be comfortable putting up the price of that products as you know that chances are that you will be able to get more money for it than before. Also you will be keen to sell it for more because you know that when you go to replenish your suppliers there is a chance that it will cost you more to replace them.

These are the economic fundamentals that every company and indeed individual needs to live by. Obviously companies need to make money and individuals need to survive. So they nee to keep track of what things cost such as EVA Mats and Foam Mats. Just like any other product the price of EVA mats and foam mats is determined by supply and demand. If the factories are producing more of these training mats than the market requires then the price will fall. If they produce less then the opposite will happen. The chances are that the factories will only produce mats when they are sold so this will rarely be why the price has moved.

The other factor effecting the price of manufactured goods such as EVA mats and foam mat is the price of commodities. If the price of the inputs materials goes up then this will effect the price of the finished product. So for example the price of oil might effect the price of EVA mats because EVA is a petroleum by-product and therefore is tied to its price. Other things that might effect it are currency fluctuations. As most manufactured goods made in Asia are calculated in USD, should its price change compared to the Aussie dollar then that also could have an effect.

So as you see when looking at the price of EVA mats and foam mats it is clear that they are influenced by many factors. The moral of the story is that if you see them fall in price and you need some then buy them then and there.

Foam Mats for Gym

Every Gym Needs Foam Mats

There seems to have been a resurgence or gyms lately especially with the advent of the 24 hour gym. Indeed 24 hour gyms are all the rage at the moment and have really taken away a lot of business from regular traditional gyms. Traditional gyms are struggling nowadays because people want flexibility away from all the contracts and nonsense. I mean how important is it to be able to buy a protein shake from the gym bar when all you need is a vending machine with some water and juices. Even though the format of gyms is changing lots of the fundamentals have stayed the same.

Foam Mats & Rubber Mats

Even though some things have changed there is one thing that hasn’t – the need for foam mats. Although you will still find carpet in the main areas and rubber mats under the weight you will still find foam mats in almost ever gym. That is because almost every gym still needs to have an aerobic type of train area. Any time you have vigorous activity happening you need to have some foam mats to lessen the impact. Gym owners know that the training public demands it and of course the customer is always right. Plus there is the added benefit of reducing the impact of training so the gym users can keep coming back

Jigsaw Mats

The most common form or foam mats are jigsaw mats. Jigsaw mats are the most popular form of foam mats because they can be easily installed and they are inexpensive. They are also easy to replace if one of them gets damaged, instead of having to replace them all. The other alternative would be to have a patch where something has happened which would look unseemly. Jigsaw foam mats have been around for ages simple because they are so convenience and gyms were amongst the first to embrace them.

Although gyms were amongst the first to embrace foam mats they are not the last. You can bet that you will see them wherever you go for years to come yet.

Whilst not a fan of Tiger per se I was interested in the tale of the come back kid making his way to the top. Judging by the crowds at the US PGA tour on the weekend I was not the only person. Indeed it seemed that everybody was mesmerised by the return of Tiger Woods to top form.

After teasing us over the last few weeks with near misses at other events Tiger Woods has finally won his first title in five years. What will go down as the biggest comeback in sporting history Tiger lifted a remarkable victory with a two-shot win in the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. Tiger was able to fend off a spirited challenge from the likes of Justin Rose and fellow American Billy Herschel to win his 60th title an pocket $US1.62 million in the process.

“All of a sudden it started hitting me that I was going to win the tournament,” Woods said. “It’s been a tough few years.”

This outstanding victory is sure to elevate Woods’ profile and standing in the sporting community. He will surely receive some huge offers from sponsors following this remarkable outcome.

Indeed Direct Mats CEO has stated that he would love to come on board as a Tiger Woods sponsor in the near future. “Tiger would be a great advocate for our jigsaw mats and foam mats.” said Direct Mats CEO. “You know it what our mats are about. Protect Yourself With Gym Mats

Gym Mats

Training on hard surfaces can lead to long term injury. Constantly jumping up and down and rolling around on the ground can cause injury due to the stress on your bones and muscles. Fortunately for all the gym junkies out there we have a solution. Direct Mats now offers jigsaw mats and puzzle mats which if used correctly and in conjunction with a well thought out training regiment can reduce the impact of hard training on the body, helping to prevent injury and ensuring maximum fitness.

As mentioned above regular training on hard surfaces can lead to impact injuries, bruises and broken bones. While there is no substitute for common sense and taking care during training, with foam mats these injuries can be prevented. The main benefit of these jigsaw mats, the company says, is that they allow individuals to train longer and harder than they otherwise could by reducing the impact on the body.

We supply gym mats for high-impact training such as martial arts and cross-fit training, but in practice, these mats are suitable for practically any activity. Thicker puzzle mats are appropriate for more intense, higher impact sports, such as MMA, while lower thickness mats are more suitable for sports like yoga and gymnastics.

The majority of our foam mats are made from EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate), a blend of a rubbery copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, often used in the soles of sports shoes. This material has a  proven ability to absorb shock and protect delicate joints and tendons from injury. Gym mats come in a variety of thicknesses, tailored for different use scenarios. At the moment, the company supplies puzzle mats in 20mm, 30mm and 40mm widths, as well as a variety of specialised tatami and MMA mats in 40mm.

Direct Mats is one of Australia’s leading supplier of gym mats. It currently supplies safety mats to a range of organisations, including schools, sporting clubs, government training details and commercial gyms. Part of the appeal of our products is that they are amenable to practically any environment. Jigsaw mats, in particular, can be customised to any facility or room, offering a temporary or permanent floor covering to improve safety and boost comfort. The mats are easy to lay on any floor and are both durable and highly portable.

MMA mats are manufactured using heavy duty vinyl. They have a smooth finish, helping to reduce friction burns while providing maximum impact cushioning. Currently, the MMA mats from the company are available in 40mm in either black or grey and offer a low-cost solution compared to other leading brands in the industry.

For other martial arts, the company offers tatami mats. These are appropriate for a range of hand-to-hand fighting sports, including judo, jiu-jitsu, aikido, karate, kung fu and BJJ. These foam mats come in a variety of finishes, depending on the customer’s needs.

Anti-fatigue Mats Help Prevent Injury

Anti-fatigue mats are designed to help a person who is working in a standing position for prolonged periods of time. Most anti-fatigue mats are a combination of an ergonomic pattern and a cushioning underlay. US Dollar sales of gym mats

Weak Inflation Data Effect AUD

The Australian dollar tumbled after weak inflation data from the Bureau of Statistics. The rate of inflation came in at 0.2% which was below  the expected rate of 0.4%. The RBA would have been watching the core rate which was 0.5%. The core rate of inflation was according to the markets expectations. The AUD tumble by a quarter of a percent after the announcement. It then stabilised after the initial fall.

A fall in the AUD can usually be expected to lead to a increase in the cost of imported items. This is also true when it comes to foam mats. As foam mats are purchased using USD any fluctuation in the currency has an effect on foam mats. The effect may not be immediate but over time if there is a continual drop in the value of the dollar then it can be expected to have an effect on the price of foam mats.

Our interlocking mats remain the most competitively priced in the market. We have a large range of interlocking mats available at any particular time. We also have new mats coming in all the time. We just received a shipment of gym mats last week and will be receiving another shipment next week. It is always best to order your mats while the AUD is higher.
